Terms of Service

Effective: 2026-10-02

These terms are an agreement between Tow Tek Manufacturing Inc. (“VINready”, “we”, “us”) and the business that creates a VINready account (“you”). By creating an account or using VINready you agree to them on behalf of your business, and you confirm you are allowed to do so.

1. What VINready is

VINready is online software that helps trailer manufacturers assign vehicle identification numbers (VINs) and produce compliance labels and New Vehicle Information Statements (NVIS) from information you enter. It is a tool. It does not certify your vehicles, approve your VIN scheme, or replace your own compliance process.

2. Your account

  • VINready is for businesses that build or sell trailers. You must give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your password safe. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
  • Tell us right away if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.

3. Free trial, price and billing

  • New accounts get a 14-day free trial. No payment card is needed for the trial.
  • After the trial, VINready costs $29 CAD per month plus applicable taxes (such as HST), unless a different price is shown when you subscribe.
  • Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automatically each month until cancelled.
  • If you subscribe during your trial, you keep the remaining trial days and your first payment is taken when the trial ends.
  • We may change the price with at least 30 days’ notice by email. The new price applies from your next billing date after the notice period.
  • Payments are non-refundable, including for partial months, except where the law requires otherwise.
  • If a payment fails, we will try again. If it stays unpaid, issuing new VINs is paused until the account is brought up to date.

4. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing. Your subscription then ends at the end of the month you have paid for, and you can keep issuing VINs until then. After that, your VIN log, reprints and CSV export stay available to you for as long as your account remains open.

5. Your responsibilities for compliance

You remain fully responsible for your vehicles and the documents you issue. In particular, you are responsible for:

  • having a valid World Manufacturer Identifier (WMI), any manufacturer ID, and your National Safety Mark authorization, and entering them correctly;
  • your VIN scheme (what each position means) and the details you enter for each trailer, such as sizes, weight ratings, tires and rims;
  • checking every compliance label and NVIS before you use it, and making sure each one is correct for the vehicle it goes on;
  • printing labels at actual size on durable label stock suitable for the life of the vehicle, and applying them as required;
  • meeting the Motor Vehicle Safety Act, the Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, Transport Canada requirements, and any provincial rules that apply to you;
  • keeping any records the law requires you to keep. Use the CSV export to keep your own copy.

VINready checks things such as the VIN check digit, the model-year code and that serials are not reused, but these checks are based on what you enter and do not guarantee that your vehicles or documents comply with the law.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • issue VINs, labels or NVIS for vehicles you did not manufacture or are not authorized to label, or use VINready to misrepresent any vehicle;
  • use a WMI, manufacturer ID or National Safety Mark that does not belong to your business;
  • try to get into other customers’ accounts or data, probe or overload the service, or get around its limits or security;
  • copy, resell or reverse engineer VINready, except where the law allows it;
  • use VINready for anything unlawful.

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules, and we may report suspected VIN fraud to the authorities.

7. Your data

Your business keeps ownership of the information you put into VINready, including your company details, VIN records and uploaded images. You give us permission to store and process it only to run VINready for you, keep it secure, provide support and meet our legal obligations.

When you enter a buyer’s name, address or phone number for an NVIS, you are responsible for collecting it lawfully and for telling your buyers how you use it. We handle it on your behalf as described in our Privacy Policy.

Issued VINs cannot be edited or deleted while your account is open; mistakes are voided with a reason so your records stay complete. You can export your VIN log at any time.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep VINready available and your data safe, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free. We may need to pause it for maintenance. We may improve or change features over time; if we remove something important you rely on, we will give you reasonable notice.

9. Closing an account

You can ask us to close your account at any time by emailing support@vinready.ca. We may close or suspend an account that breaks these terms or stays unpaid. Before an account is closed, export anything you want to keep. After closing, we keep your data for up to 90 days and then delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.

10. Disclaimer

Except as stated in these terms, VINready is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no other promises or warranties, including that VINready is fit for a particular purpose or that its output meets any regulatory requirement.

11. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or revenue, recalls, regulatory penalties, or the cost of relabelling vehicles;
  • our total liability for any claim relating to VINready is limited to the amount you paid us for VINready in the 12 months before the claim arose.

You agree to cover our reasonable costs if a claim is made against us because of the vehicles you build or sell, the information you enter, or your breach of these terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will email the account owner at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using VINready after that, the new terms apply. If you don’t agree, you can cancel.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Ontario.
